For many of Genshin Impact’s update history, shields were the meta. They kept your character from getting damaged and had an instant effect. You could keep attacking without pausing to dodge because of the shield. Healing usually takes some time, with only portions of HP restored. That makes it less useful in combat since damage can overtake the recovery, and your character will still die. These two conflicting philosophies have led many players to ask what the Best Healer in Genshin Impact is?
Now, with the addition of Corrosion and the Black Serpent Knights (who buff themselves when hitting a shield), healers are starting to fit into the meta. Since the qualifier of ‘best’ is very subjective, I’ll just list the pros and cons of each healer, and you can decide which one is best for you.
Who is the Best Healer in Genshin Impact?
There are 8 healers in the game. That doesn’t include catalyst users with the Prototype Amber, those who heal themselves (Hu Tao, Kaeya), or can heal with a constellation upgrade (Zhongli, Gorou). These characters have healing in their kit from the start, though they all have different mechanics.
Best 5-star Genshin Impact Healers
Jean
What’s excellent about Jean is that her healing scales off ATK, meaning she can heal as much as she can deal damage. She doesn’t infuse her weapon with an element, so her auto attacks are direct physical damage. Her E and Q deal Anemo DMG.
As for her healing, she does it in two ways. Once she gets her first Ascension Passive at level 20 after Ascension, her auto attacks have a 50% chance of healing the party. It’s only 15% of her attack, but she has a fast attack speed as a sword user.
The second way is through her Burst, Dandelion Breeze. On activation, it provides a burst of healing equivalent to a percentage of her ATK. It then leaves a recovery (10% of the burst activation values) field of Anemo. The field damages enemies that enter and leave it and creates a Swirl reaction every few seconds.
Her passive and the initial healing burst of her Q affects all party members, but the field only heals the active one. She’s an excellent choice to counter Corrosion since the debuff also affects everyone in the party. You can also give her the Viridescent Venerer artifact set for more utility. Otherwise, you can use a mixture of the ATK boosting sets (Gladiator’s, Shimenawa) and the healing ones (Ocean-Hued, Maiden Beloved).
Qiqi
Like Jean, Qiqi’s healing scales off ATK. However, her mechanics wildly differ from Jean’s.
First, her E skill summons a frost spirit that hovers around the active character. It heals them for a moderate percentage of her ATK every few seconds. Qiqi can boost that healing with a smaller portion every time her normal attacks hit while the skill is active.
Her Burst marks enemies within range. The marking lasts for 15 seconds. Any party member who hits a marked enemy will heal for a percentage of her ATK. With her second Ascension Passive, her regular attacks have a 50% chance of marking enemies. It can only activate every 30 seconds. This mark also has a reduced duration of 6 seconds.
Most of her healing abilities only affect the active character, except when she makes auto attacks while her E is in effect. Unfortunately for her ATK scaling, her multipliers aren’t as good as Jean’s for her to deal damage. This can be remedied by the Ocean-Hued Clam artifact set, which deals additional damage the more healing she does. She has to be the active damage-dealer to take advantage of this build.
Sangonomiya Kokomi
Kokomi is Hoyoverse’s attempt to make a dedicated healer. The meta says the DPS characters need Crit Rate and Crit Damage, and Kokomi has a passive that cuts her Crit Rate by 100%. You’ll have to build her Crit Rate to over 95% to make critical hits. Despite this, she can deal substantial damage even without crits. It’s just not as much as a DPS character would.
Her E leaves behind a jellyfish that heals allies and damages enemies (while also applying Hydro) with every pulse. It lasts for 12 seconds and cannot be repositioned. Fischl can re-summon Oz, and Guoba can be moved around with Anemo skills, but Kokomi’s jellyfish cannot move from its place. Note that this also applies Hydro to Kokomi, so watch for freezing effects.
Her Burst puts her in a buffed state where she can heal with every attack she does (Charged Attacks have increased healing). Also, she has increased resistance to interruptions and can walk on water. Her projectiles have increased damage in this state based on her max HP.
All her skills scale off HP. Her healing and the damage bonus of her Burst use it. That makes the Tenacity of the Millileth set an excellent choice for her. The 2-set bonus boosts her HP, then the 4-set lets her buff her allies with every pulse of her jellyfish. Of course, the jelly has to hit an enemy, but the set adds to her utility. She can also make do with Ocean-Hued or Maiden Beloved.
Aside from the 4-set Millileth, she can also use the Thrilling Tales of Dragon Slayers catalyst to buff her allies. As a bonus, the weapon’s substat is HP, which also boosts her healing capabilities. The jellyfish may only heal the active character(s), but in her Burst state, she can heal all allies.
Best 4-Star Genshin Impact Healers
Barbara
Barbara is a free character you can get just by leveling up your Adventure Rank. As such, she’s the most common healer and likely the first one you get.
Her E summons a Melody Loop that heals the active character for a portion of Barb’s HP every few seconds. Like Qiqi, if she attacks while it’s in effect, she heals the whole party for a smaller percentage of her HP. Her Burst is a simple healing ability that restores the health of all allies.
She’s a straightforward healer with a weak multiplier for her attacks, but that didn’t stop some players from making her a DPS. Still, if you want to make her an effective healer, you’ll build her HP. Regarding artifact sets, she can only use 2-set Millileth and Severed Fate, 4-set Ocean-Hued, or 4-set Maiden. She can also use Thrilling Tales to buff her allies for added utility.
Bennett
Bennett is also an HP-scaling healer, but he’s so much more than that. While his Burst is his only ability that can heal, it has more use than a healing field. It also buffs the ATK of allies and cleanses any elemental status on you by applying Pyro to your character. However, that latter portion can be detrimental if there are any Electro-inducing enemies around since it’s easier to cause an Overload reaction on you.
There are some caveats, though. Bennett can only heal for up to 70% of a character’s life, and only then will he buff the active character’s ATK. These only take effect when the allied character is on the field. Bennett has high utility as a buffer, and with the right Constellation upgrades and the Noblesse Oblige set, he’s a must-have in the party.
Noelle
Noelle combines shielding and healing. She’s the only character to have her healing scale off DEF instead of ATK or HP. Aside from that, she also gains an ATK bonus based on her DEF when her Burst is active. Her healing only has a chance when her attacks hit while her E skill (the shield) is up.
This makes her a versatile character, as building her as a DPS means increasing her DEF. That also increases the durability of her shield and her healing capability. The Husk of Opulent Dreams, Guardian’s Will, Retracing Bolide, or Maiden Beloved sets are excellent on her.
Diona
Diona is another shielder/healer combo. Her E generates a shield for her and her allies at a specific Constellation upgrade. Her Q leaves a healing field that also applies Cryo to enemies and damages them a little.
Both her healing and shielding scales off HP. 2-set Severed Fate and Millelith or 4-set Maiden are the recommended sets for her. Noblesse is also an option if you want more utility.
Kuki Shinobu
Kuki is a high-risk Electro healer. Her E can heal every two seconds; however, activating it makes her lose a portion of her HP. She also has a healing bonus if her health is below 50%, so keeping her hitpoints half full is best.
Her healing can overtake the loss of HP for its activation, but you don’t want her to have full life anyway. She can make use of 4-set Millelith, Ocean-Hued, or Maiden Beloved. I recommend Millelith for the buffing utility.
Xingqiu
Xingqiu has an Ascension Passive that lets his Rain Swords (the ‘shield’ ones that appear with both his skills) heal the active character for 6% of his total HP each. That’s a total of 24% if you have C1 Xingqiu. I didn’t count him as an actual healer because you’ll want him to be a DPS anyway, not for healing. This is just an incidental effect, and it scales off HP, not ATK or Hydro DMG. That makes him less effective as a DPS while the above healers have a dedicated stat to their role.
Best Constellation Healers
Zhongli
At his C6, 40% of incoming damage to his Jade Shield will turn into healing for the active character. The amount healed cannot exceed 8% of that character’s HP. Of course, getting his Constellation upgrades is the hard part. As the healing doesn’t have anything to do with Zhongli’s stats, this should be a great way of healing, but 8% of HP isn’t a large number.
Gorou
His Burst can heal the active character for 50% of his DEF if at least 2 Geo characters are in the party. It takes the C4 upgrade for this to take effect, though. It will not be as effective as an actual healer, but it can do in a pinch.
The Prototype Amber
Any catalyst user with this weapon can restore the party’s HP. Just slap on a 2-set Severed Fate and Ocean-Hued or Maiden Beloved, and make the timepiece Energy Recharge to make an emergency healer. The weapon restores a percentage of each affected character’s HP, so you only have to worry about using the Burst. Noblesse Oblige is also an option, as long as you can charge up the character’s Q quickly for the regeneration.
Catalyst users (that are not already healers) are:
- Lisa
- Mona
- Sucrose
- Klee
- Yae Miko
- Ningguang
- Shikanoin Heizou
- Yanfei
Mona, Lisa, Ningguang, Yanfei (C4 for additional shield), and Yae Miko are excellent candidates for this weapon. The others are more suited to a DPS role than a supportive one, so other weapons would be better for them. All can be DPS, though, if you built them that way (not with this catalyst).
Hydro Resonance
This boosts the Incoming Healing Bonus by 30% by putting two Hydro characters in the party. Any character that receives healing will restore 30% more HP from the initial value.
If you want to maximize healing, take advantage of this.
So, Who’s the Best Healer in Genshin Impapct?
Kokomi is my best healer, followed by Qiqi/Jean (depending on who has the Aquila Favonia). Benny is an excellent utility healer, too, along with a Noblesse Diona. Despite the low HP requirement on Kuki, I’m enjoying using her, but I probably won’t use her in the Abyss.
If I had to rank them based on healing ability alone:
- Kokomi
- Jean
- Qiqi
- Barbara
- Noelle
- Kuki Shinobu
- Diona
- Bennett (because of his 70% of HP healing limit)
When it comes to utility, though, it becomes:
- Bennett (C1 with Noblesse)
- Kokomi (Millileth with TToDS)
- Jean (with VV)
- Noelle (shields and DPS)
- Diona (shields)
- Kuki Shinobu (Millileth)
- Barbara (TToDS)
- Qiqi (Ocean-Hued)
However, this is only my personal ranking, so you might have a different order. As I said, the ‘best’ is subjective. I’ve used the Prototype Amber for one cycle of the Abyss (the one with a bonus to a single element). Because a Geo party can have shields from Crystallize, Gorou’s minor healing does well for the team. It depends on the situation and how you’ve built the character.

FAQs
Who is the best healer in Genshin ranked? ›
Qiqi is still the best character in sheer healing capabilities in the cast so far, and this is her main asset as a character. Both her elemental burst and skill provide passive healing, meaning that it is easy to activate her skill and switch to a different character.
Who is the best 4 star healer Genshin? ›Kokomi and Bennett are far and away the best healers in all of Genshin Impact. The first is honorary archon Bennett. The four-star unit is already one of the best supports in Genshin Impact thanks to Fantastic Voyage.
Is Sayu a better healer than Barbara? ›Compared to Barbara, Sayu has better per hit healing with her burst than Barbara has with her elemental skill. On the other hand, Barbara does just beat Sayu in terms of immediate healing with her elemental burst; this effectively puts the two on near equal footing as far as healing potential is concerned.
Is Qiqi or Kokomi better? ›While Kokomi adds to the lineup of adorable Genshin Impact characters, both Barbara and Qiqi are better at everything she is supposed to do. Kokomi is designed to be a healer who also deals damage in Genshin Impact.
Is Kokomi worth it? ›Her high sustain and utility is something only she can provide, while her DPS builds pack a potent punch that can trivialize difficult content. If you have Primogems to spare, here are the reasons why you should pull for Kokomi: You need a strong Hydro support. You need a strong Hydro carry.
Does Hu Tao need a healer? ›Having a healer is crucial for Hu Tao's survivability, allowing players to continuously use her elemental skill without the fear of dying. However, players have to keep in mind that overhealing means Hu Tao can't benefit from her second passive.
Is Raiden or Kokomi better? ›Raiden Shogun has been an incredible pick in the game since her release. She synergizes well with many teams and can deal an insane amount of damage. Sangonomiya Kokomi, on the other hand, was initially overlooked by many players. However, she has since risen to a much higher value thanks to her healing.
Who is a 5 star healer? ›Kokomi is definitely the better healer, since she can heal using both her skill and burst (Bennett can only heal using his burst), and her burst heals your whole party, including the off-field ones (Bennett only heals your active character, while the off-field doesn't get healed).
Who is the strongest 5 star in Genshin? ›Venti is the best support in the game, and also the best Anemo character. He can easily change the layouts of the battlefield by introducing a vortex that sucks in all enemies, opening them up to stacks of Swirl elemental reactions.
Who is the rarest 4-star in Genshin Impact? ›1. Bennett (Pyro Sword) Despite being shunned by nearly every team in the game for being the unluckiest adventurer in Teyvat, Bennett is widely considered to be the best 4-star character in Genshin Impact.
Is Yaoyao a healer? ›
Her Healing Is Not The Best
For example, Yaoyao's skill heals your active character for 3.26 percent of Max HP with an extra 392 at talent level 11. On the other hand, other characters that also heal the active character like Kuki Shinobu or Bennett have much higher scaling (up to 12 percent of max HP).
Nothing she does will heal the team, but like a fair few other Anemo adventurers, she's great at interrupting and displacing smaller enemies, pulling them into the range of her winds, and keeping them there long enough for other characters to bully.
Should I build Qiqi? ›To create an undying DPS zombie, players should build Qiqi on Physical damage. The unit's normal attacks are her best source of damage, so it's best to build her on 4-Gladiator's Finale, 4-Pale Flame, or a combination with Bloodstained Chivalry. The main stat should be Attack/ Physical damage/Crit Rate or Crit Damage.
Who is stronger SAYU or sucrose? ›Moreover, Sayu's base stats are surprisingly higher than either Sucrose's and Venti's.
What does C6 Barbara do? ›C6 - Dedicating Everything to You
Effect: When Barbara is in the party but not on the field, and one of the party members falls. Automatically revives the fallen character. Fully restores the revived character's HP to 100%. This effect can only occur once every 15 minutes.
Bennett, Diluc, Venti
Thanks to Qiqi's natural burst and healing potential, she can fit right into almost any setup. Her best lineups include synergies with the likes of Bennett (Pyro), Diluc (Pyro), and Venti (Anemo). With this comp, Qiqi can easily grant heals via her elemental skill whenever she attacks.
The best F2P team for Kokomi in Genshin Impact is arguably Sukokomon, where the lineup consists of only 4-star characters, excluding the priestess herself. Sucrose, Fischl, and Xiangling can all trigger their respective elements off-field with their Elemental Skill and Burst.
Should I wish for Kokomi or Ganyu? ›Overall, Genshin Impact players who currently want a strong DPS and don't mind the element should opt for Ganyu. Meanwhile, those who don't have a Hydro enabler or healer should consider Sangonomiya Kokomi.
Is Kokomi a fish? ›Given that Kokomi is pretty much a mermaid, she's unsurprisingly a Hydro Catalyst wielder. While her kit renders her largey unsuitable for DPS roles, she does stand out as Genshin Impact's premium healer, being the only 5-star character to date build around that particular role.
Does Hu Tao hurt herself? ›Hu Tao has an adorable little ghost companion that syncs up and synergizes with her core mechanics, which seem to hinge around self-injury for massive damage boosts. Don't worry, Hu Tao can heal herself via regeneration with her skillset as well.
Does Hu Tao know Qiqi? ›
In fact, Hu Tao has had poor Qiqi stuffed into a bag several times, only for Dr. Baizhu to stop the kidnapping in the nick of time. Hu Tao has scared Qiqi and is the one person the young girl hates. While Hu Tao now sees Qiqi as a friend, the feeling is not mutual and likely never will be.
What does C6 Hu Tao do? ›C6 - Butterfly's Embrace
Additionally, for the next 10s, all of her Elemental and Physical RES is increased by 200%, her CRIT Rate is increased by 100%, and her resistance to interruption is greatly increased. This effect triggers automatically when Hu Tao has 1 HP left and can only occur once every 60s.
The best team to defeat Raiden Shogun in Genshin Impact must have at least one Electro character that breaks the remembrance flower, a strong pair of damage dealers like Ganyu, Xiao, Hu Tao, Itto, Diluc, Ayaka, or Eula, and finally, a healer/shielder.
Should I get Yae Miko or Raiden Shogun? ›Verdict: Raiden Shogun or Yae Miko
In summary, players should pull for Yae Miko if they: Can afford to pull for Kagura's Verity, or own The Widsith. Can build her with the mentioned Artifact sets. In need of a damage-exclusive Sub-DPS.
Yes, the Kokomi banner rerun is worth pulling on. The 5-star support character is one of the best healers in the entire game and can keep her allies' on their feet during even the toughest fights.
Who is the God of healer? ›Asclepius, Greek Asklepios, Latin Aesculapius, Greco-Roman god of medicine, son of Apollo (god of healing, truth, and prophecy) and the mortal princess Coronis. The Centaur Chiron taught him the art of healing.
Who is the first healer? ›John Draper, also known as Captain Crunch, is often named as the first ever hacker. And rather than having lots of high-tech hacking tools at his disposal, he managed to do it all with a toy whistle from a cereal packet.
Who is the master in healer? ›Faith, repentance, baptism, a testimony, and enduring conversion lead to the healing power of the Lord.
Who is the most op character in Genshin? ›- 8 Kaedehara Kazuha (62/806)

- 6 Shenhe (64/830)
- 5 Cyno (66/859)
- 4 Hu Tao (68/876)
- 3 Albedo (68/876)
- 2 Qiqi (71/922)
- 1 Itto (74/959)
Amber is, perhaps, the most upbeat and happy-go-lucky character in all of Genshin Impact, as well as the first character aside from Paimon that players are formally introduced to.
Who is the best God in Genshin? ›
Finally, the most current most powerful playable character in Genshin Impact lore-wise is the Geo Archon himself, Zhongli.
Who is the rarest 5-star in Genshin Impact? ›Two of the rarest characters in Genshin Impact appear to be Venti and Diluc. Both are 5-star characters, and they're more typically desired than other 5-stars like Jean and Keqing. Diluc is incredibly powerful, and he's currently available through the Wanderlust Invocation Wish.
What gender is sucrose? ›Sucrose is a young girl with short, minty green hair with a single pale turquoise streak in her bangs.
Who is the female four star Genshin? ›Yanfei is the newest 4-star character on the roster, and she's proven herself to be quite a capable pyro damage dealer. She's Klee's closest 4-star alternative right now. As usual, Yanfei can shine if players provide her with adequate support characters such as Xingqiu or Kaeya.
Can Yae Miko be a healer? ›Yae Miko doesn't heal naturally, and as an offensive fighter, she doesn't have much in the way of defensive, meaning she'll rely heavily on her teammates to keep her shielded and healthy in a battle.
Is Yaoyao a girl or boy? ›Yaoyao - Girl's name meaning, origin, and popularity | BabyCenter.
Can Sangonomiya Kokomi heal? ›Kokomi's main strength is as a healer who can also apply Hydro to enemies using her Bake-Kurage jellyfish turrets and her Nereid's Ascension burst. But the Ocean-Hued Clam artifact set changed everything for her, adding an ability that lets you deal damage based upon the amount that a character heals.
What does C6 sucrose do? ›Just like all other Anemo characters that absorb elements into their skills, C6 Sucrose grants a 20% DMG buff to the element her Burst absorbs. With that, Sucrose becomes a complete support that buffs her team's Elemental Mastery and Elemental DMG with many other capabilities.
How does Noelle heal? ›With her Elemental Skill in effect, Noelle gains a shield and begins healing the team with each strike of her weapon. Both boost scale from her DEF stat, making her a premier tank to swap in when the rest of the team needs patching up.
Is Dori a good healer? ›Dori is a really useful healer/support character to place in teams centred around the new Dendro playable element. I recommend placing her on a team with Collei and Xingqiu to get the most out of the new offensive interactions between Electro, Dendro, and Hydro.
How old is Sayu? ›
She's thought to still be only around 16 or so, but has been under Fatui control for most of her life.
Who is better Qiqi or Diona? ›Diona and Qiqi are both Cryo support units. Also, Diona is a 4-star character, while Qiqi is a standard 5-star character. Qiqi is a strong healer, but she does have kit issues that make her perform much worse than Diona – so Diona is easily better than Qiqi.
Is Qiqi rare to get? ›However, Qiqi's 5-star rarity means that it is extremely unlikely that a fan will ever unlock her through Wishes even if they make a ton of them. This is because the base chance for a Wish to award a 5-star character or weapon in Genshin Impact is just 0.6%, which is obviously very low.
Is Sayu rare in Genshin? ›Sayu is a rare instance where Elemental Resonance doesn't matter too much. Her best attacks won't rely on stamina, and the 5% CD reduction for her Skill isn't that big of a bonus. Since Sayu's Skill makes her mobile, a good party is one that can inflict Elemental damage on a wide scale.
Is Venti or Sucrose better for Ayaka? ›Sucrose is a four star character, so it's easier to build her. Plus, her Elemental Burst is even better than Venti's for a team with Ayaka.
Is yanfei or Sucrose better? ›Yanfei and Sucrose are both very good DPS, although Sucrose can also act as a support or sub DPS. Yanfei can do a lot of damage with Melt and Vaporise, but you really need Xingqiu for her to shine.
Who heals more jean or Qiqi? ›Qiqi is the overall better healer because everything she does heals plus she is a good healer for any character.
Why Qiqi is the best healer? ›Qiqi's healing is beyond impressive, as she can often overheal her team in the endgame. The secret to her healing is the "Fortune-Preserving Talisman'' she puts on enemies. Any character that deals damage to an enemy affected by this debuff will receive huge amounts of healing.
Is Xingqiu a better healer than Barbara? ›Barbara is the last Hydro character on the list, and she's another four-star healer like Xingqiu. However, she just isn't as good, and she doesn't provide all the other stats that Xingqiu does. Barbara can apply Hydro to enemies while also healing her party members.
Who is the strongest character in Genshin Impact ranked? ›- 8 Kaedehara Kazuha (62/806)
- 7 Tartaglia (63/814)
- 6 Shenhe (64/830)
- 5 Cyno (66/859)
- 4 Hu Tao (68/876)
- 3 Albedo (68/876)
- 2 Qiqi (71/922)
- 1 Itto (74/959)
Who saves Qiqi? ›
Seeing her as innocent, the adepti put their energy into her and saved her life.
Is Bennett or Sayu better? ›Bennett has lower burst cost, better damage boost, better uptime, and better synergy with other supports. In reality, Bennet. Sayu better for exploring. Bennett better for slaughter.
Who is better Qiqi or keqing? ›While Qiqi constantly heals her teammates, the rest of the team can dish out decent DPS. Keqing gives great maneuverability, whereas both Diluc and Venti boast powerful crowd control abilities. When in a pinch, Qiqi can provide emergency heals to ensure maximum survivability among the party.
Is Noelle or Qiqi a better healer? ›In terms of healing amount, Qiqi is still the best of them all. The reason is that her heals is based on ATK stat, with good multipliers, and she can heal really fast, whether by using her skill or her burst.
Who is the weakest Archon? ›Who is the weakest Archon in Genshin Impact? Venti or Barbatos is likely the weakest among all the seven gods or archons in Teyvat who each have their own nation. That's all thanks to Signora snatching up his gnosis, effectively making Venti less than an archon in terms of power.
Who is the strongest girl in Genshin? ›With her Claymore, Elemental skill, and Burst, Eula is, by far, one of the best female characters in Genshin Impact for DPS.
Who is the hardest 5 star character in Genshin Impact? ›Two of the rarest characters in Genshin Impact appear to be Venti and Diluc. Both are 5-star characters, and they're more typically desired than other 5-stars like Jean and Keqing. Diluc is incredibly powerful, and he's currently available through the Wanderlust Invocation Wish.
