The original 5* character releases of Genshin Impact still hold a special place in the hearts of the fandom. Unsurprisingly, even as the years have gone by, characters such as Diluc have been fleshed out; however, they still remain quite popular. Diluc was the original DPS king of Genshin Impact and deserved his place.

Diluc is a 5* Pyro Claymore user who specializes in consecutive heavy hits and weaving his Elemental skill in between his auto attacks for fluid combos. He has a satisfying kit that can dish out insane numbers while maintaining his signature aesthetic. This feeling of overwhelming your enemies can easily be achieved by pairing him up with the right weapons.

Prototype Archaic 7/7

  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: ATK +27.6%
  • On hit, Normal or Charge Attacks have a 50% chance to deal an additional 240% ATK DMG to enemies with a small AoE. Can only occur once every 15s.

The Prototype Archaic is a craftable 4* weapon that will be easily accessible to Free to Play players as well. This means you can upgrade the weapon to max refinement quite easily and reap all the benefits it can provide to your Diluc.

The weapon has a reasonably high base attack, but the bonus sub-stat really elevates Diluc’s attack value to devastating levels. Not only this, but the weapon skill is quite satisfying to use and will provide you with its attack bonus once every rotation.

Skyward Pride 6/7

  • Lvl 90 Base Atk: Attack +674
  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: Energy Recharge +36.8%
  • Increases all DMG by 8%. After using an Elemental Burst, Normal, or Charged Attack, on hit, creates a vacuum blade that does 80% of ATK as DMG to enemies along its path. Lasts for 20s or 8 vacuum blades.

The Skyward Pride is a well-known 5* weapon that has been in the game since its initial launch and still holds up in terms of performance to date. Not only does the claymore look amazing it is also an excellent option for Diluc if you are lucky enough to get one.

This weapon has one of the highest base attacks out of all the claymores in the game. The energy recharge sub-stat is also quite powerful for characters like Diluc, who love spamming their Elemental Burst. Furthermore, the powerful weapon skill will let you clear hordes of enemies very quickly.

Blackcliff Slasher 5/7

  • Lvl 90 Base Atk: Attack +510
  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: Crit Damage +55.1%
  • After defeating an enemy, ATK is increased by 12% for 30s. This effect has a maximum of 3 stacks, and the duration of each stack is independent of the others.

The Blackcliff Slasher is a 4* weapon that is purchasable from the Starglitter Exchange for 24 Masterless Starglitter. This makes it a fairly accessible option for most players if they have Masterless Starglitter to spare for their Diluc’s weaponry.

The weapon has a respectable Base Attack; however, the bonus stat on this weapon is quite impressive for a character like Diluc, who is built around dealing devastating blows to the enemy. The Crit Damage paired with the stacking ATK% increase on the weapon skill make this weapon impressive at its task of boosting your DPS to new heights.

Serpent’s Spine 4/7

  • Lvl 90 Base Atk: Attack +510
  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: CRIT Rate +27.6%
  • Every 4s a character is on the field, they will deal 6% more DMG and take 3% more DMG. This effect has a maximum of 5 stacks and will not be reset if the character leaves the field, but will be reduced by 1 stack when the character takes DMG.

The Serpent’s Spine is an imposing 4* claymore with a skeletal aesthetic to it. Despite being just a 4*, this weapon ranks high up in the list because of the buffs it can provide to your Diluc, as it synergizes quite well with his playstyle.

The Base Attack on the weapon is around average, but the Crit Rate sub-stat is something that most Claymores do not really have. This makes the weapon unique in its role. Not only this, but the weapon skill synergizes with Diluc’s selfish DPS role, where he wants to maximize his field time. This synergy results in highly powerful buffs to his overall DPS.

The Unforged 3/7

  • Lvl 90 Base Atk: Attack +608
  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: ATK + 49.6%
  • Increases Shield Strength by 20%. Scoring hits on opponents increases ATK by 4% for 8s. Max 5 stacks. Can only occur once every 0.3s. While protected by a shield, ATK increase effect is increased by 100%.

While we are only placing the Unforged at rank 3 many players argue for it as the best-in-slot weapon for Diluc. The same is the case for all the following weapons, as they are extremely well suited to Diluc in particular. The Unforged is a 5* Claymore that is only obtainable through wishing and complements Diluc quite well.

The weapon has a top-class Base Attack at the max level, and the Bonus Attack stat is one of the highest bonus Attack% buffs available in the game. The weapon skill is quite strong and has two parts. First, we have an on-hit stacking Attack Buff that greatly boosts your DPS. Next, we have a passive that doubles your weapon’s Bonus Stat if you have a shield on your Diluc. This makes it one of the most compelling Claymores to use on Diluc.

Redhorn Stonethresher 2/7

  • Lvl 90 Base Atk: Attack +542
  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: Crit Damage +88.2%
  • DEF is increased by 28%. Normal and Charged Attack DMG is increased by 40% of DEF.

Another very powerful 5* Claymore, the Redhorn Stonethresher, is only available from Banner wishes. If you are lucky enough to have one, then congratulations, as it is one of the best stat sticks in the game to boost your damage, and your Diluc will surely love it.

The weapon has an above-average Base Attack, which is fairly good on its own, but the real selling point is the amazing 88% increase to your Crit Damage, which you can’t even reach with a fully leveled Crit Damage artifact. This makes it an amazing weapon to stick onto your Diluc as the Crit Damage combined with the no-nonsense weapon skill that buffs your normal and charged attacks will cut through all your enemies with ease.

Wolf’s Gravestone 1/7

  • Lvl 90 Base Atk: Attack +608
  • Lvl 90 Bonus Stat: ATK + 49.6%
  • Increases ATK by 20%. On hit, attacks against enemies with less than 30% HP increases all party members’ ATK by 40% for 12s. Can only occur once every 30s.

The Wolf’s Gravestone, also known as the WGS by the community, is one of the most iconic weapons associated with Diluc. The WGS is an instantly recognizable classic that has been around since the launch of the game and Diluc mains have been using it for a good reason.

The weapon has a fantastic Base Attack value and another potent 50% increase to your attack with the weapon sub-stat. There is another 20% ATK increase with the weapon skill and a further 40% ATK increase whenever you hit an enemy under 30% HP. Thanks to the numerous Attack Buffs provided by this weapon, your Diluc would easily dish out crippling amounts of damage to your enemies.

Final Thoughts

We have discussed many of the weapons that are argued in favor of taking Diluc’s Best In Slot position; however, this is not something everyone unanimously agrees on. Diluc is a popular character with many choices for powerful weapons, and players should take full advantage of this flexibility and find the weapon that suits their playstyle the most.
